i one time say a 6 year old boy's works really impressive, and he was playing between the counters where his parents were selling stuff as a small vendor in china. his mom asked me what to do with the boy, i said whatever you do don't send him to art school. let him be himself for a while. i drew this conclusion is because it is easy to see talented kids before they went to school. how many talents in proportion you see in high school, very little? some about chinese ducation system which roll out many IT people and finance people, and many technically very skillful musicians, ballerinas...
it is too early to be concerned about what he is going to be.
he does not know. he probably will have some interests formed in high school. better idea in college. really know by the time around graduating.
as a parent, all you could do is to provide exposures in as many areas as possible just so that you do not miss the chance where he may have talent but never tried out.
piano (for music knowledge, not for key board performance) is good, that he may one day compose music, if going through this, drama is good when he goes to middle school. try as many as possible, again top college needs merit based. he could get prize awards or simply by showing consistance following one line (i am not expert in this area, ask those teach in college about this)
